Welcome to the Conococheague Institute

The Conococheague Institute is located on historic Rock Hill Farm near the village of Welsh Run, Franklin County, Pennsylvania–about halfway between the Boroughs of Greencastle and Mercersburg.
Established in 1994 as a non-profit corporation, the Institute maintains five historic buildings, a 6,000 volume research and genealogy library, and more than 20 acres of scenic farmland, wetlands, meadows and trails/woodlands.

Effective December 2012, we will no longer maintain this website. Please find us on our new webpage, conococheagueinstitute.org.

Museum and Library Hours of Operation

Office hours: M-F 8 a.m.- 5 p.m.; Visitors are welcome during these hours, or by appointment. Researchers in need of access to the Library are encouraged to pre-scedule visits in order to ensure that volunteers are available to assist.

Genealogy Library Access and Policies
For extended use and research of the Genealogy Library, please call (717) 328-3467. Books and files must be used and kept on site. Copies can also be made for a small charge. Donations of Books, Maps, Deeds, Diaries, Ledgers, as well as other materials relating to the Welsh Run area, Colonial history and genealogic materials are actively sought.
We encourage vistors and researchers to make use of this great resource.
